California

   In 1847 California became U.S. territory when mexico surrendered it to John C. Fremont. There are more than 300,000 tons of grapes grown in California annually. California also holds two of the most populated cities: Los Angeles, San Diego.  More turkeys are raised in California than any other state. California has been the birthplace of the film industry. California has over 130,000 people in prison. Los Angeles , California is second most popular city in the whole U.S. I chose California because i really like the state and i was raised here.
